Abstract

Shape of electrodes has significant influence to the vibrations of piezoelectric disk. In piezodisks with non-uniform electrodes connecting of excitation can be more practical due the shielding effect of case. Results of finite elements analysis of piezodisks with three configurations of non-uniform electrodes are presented in this study. It was found that non-uniform electrodes are origin of bending modes excitation. This mode takes part of energy of vibration. Analysis in time domain shows that non-uniform electrodes are origin of disapearance of edge mode. Thickness extensional vibrations are excited in area covered by both electrodes. Therefore efficiency of thickness vibrations is less in case when radius of electrode is less than radius of disk.
