Abstract

This paper explores the data collection method for the ultrasonic array which can drastically decrease the scanning time, because the minimum excitation-reception sequences were used for reconstruction of the coordinates of the defects. The described data collection and processing method do not use classical phased array possibilities such as beam steering and focusing, but can reconstruct the object under the test for all physically possible deeps and angles. Mentioned approach was modeled with the ultrasonic arrays which are used in non-destructive testing, but basic principles of it can be employed by other applications or industries where array are used.
