Abstract

The investigation of the acoustic fields in liquid exited by an electric spark in adjacent gaseous medium is presented in this work. It is shown that non-linear acoustic waves can be exited in liquid by high energy electric spark discharges. The evolution of the initial linear wave into non-linear acoustic waves takes place. The requirements for measurement of the nonlinear acoustic field are described. The results of measurements of the field exited by spark discharges in water are presented.
