Abstract

The new technology for non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring, designed in the Telematics scientific laboratory of Kaunas University of Technology, allows non- invasively acquire a dynamically measured data about a blood volume dynamic in the smallest vessels of a brain blood system. The aim of this study was to identify the coordinates of possible acoustic paths using computerized tomography for non-invasive intracranial pressure monitoring. The possible coordinates were measured in 5 patients of Republican Hospital of Panevezys, using computerized tomography with helical scanning of GE Sytec Synergy. One of the patients had the changes in ventricular system because of brain a tumor. The possible coordinates were obtained in two separate zones: between-ventricular and above-ventricular. It was found, that the coordinates are ranging in intervals 95.7; 97.6 and 36.9; 67.8 mm for between-ventricular zone. The maximum angle between skull bones and the active surface of transducer is ranging from 10 to 19 degrees for the above-ventricular zone.
