Abstract

An influence of the gas motion in the pipeline on the accuracy of the acoustic correlation method used for determination of the leakage coordinates is investigated. New basic algorithms for determination of leakage coordinates in the gas pipeline with consideration of influence of flow velocity in the pipeline transporting gas are created. It is revealed, that the absolute deflection of the determined leakage point, when the velocity of flow is not evaluated, may be rather considerable and consists from two components. The first component is proportional to the length of section under control and to the velocity of flow in the pipeline. The second component of the absolute deflection of the determined point of leakage depends on the leakage in the section under control and on the flow velocity raised to the second power. The results of modelling, when the location of leakage, the length of section under control and the velocity of flow in the pipeline are varied, are submitted.
