Abstract

The mathematical modeling and experimental investigation were carried out for optimization. Concave surface of radiator was used. Distribution of vibrations was modeled as the Bessel function along the radius and uniform along arc. The maximum amplitude on the symmetry axis of a directivity pattern was evaluated as a function of angle between lateral reflectors and the bottom part and of length of lateral reflectors. The directivity pattern of the concave radiator at the maximum amplitude was calculated. An experimental radiator was made with constructive elements evaluated by calculations. The directional pattern of this radiator was drawn on results of measurements obtained in acoustic camera. The experimental results show satisfactory coincidence with calculated values. Obtained results may be used in designing of echolocating distance meters operating in complicated technological environment.
