Calculation of Lamb waves dispersion curves in multilayered planar structures

Abstract

In this work Lamb waves numerical modeling methods are overviewed. It is shown that the global matrix method is most suitable for the analysis of isotropic plain structures. Analytical expressions of layer matrix coefficients are presented. A simple and robust algorithm based on the global matrix method, for Lamb waves dispersion curves calculation is proposed and the main steps of the algorithm are analyzed. Dispersion curves for two layered aluminum-steel structure and for five layers aluminum – fibre - galss composite are presented.
