Investigation of mechanical tension in sheet products by symmetrical Lamb waves

Abstract

The research on dispersion and damping of symmetric Lamb wave is sheets are described in the article. Symmetric Lamb waves of megahertz frequency in acoustically thin sheets are excited and received by the angle piezosensor matched to the first critical angle. Experimentally it was set that damping of symmetric Lamb waves linearly depends on the mechanical tension of the sheet. It is proposed to use this dependence for the research of sheet products mechanical state by non-destructive method.
